We're talking Casino Royale (1967)—and no, not THAT Casino Royale.

Directed by: Val Guest, Ken Hughes, John Huston, Joseph McGrath, Robert Parrish, and Richard Talmadge.

What a strange, terrible film.

Nevertheless, there are things we liked, quotes we favorited, and scenes we weirdly adored. We're attempting to make sense of one of the strangest branches of the entire 007 cinematic family tree.

Thunderball (1965)

Listen to "Thunderball (1965)" on Spreaker.

We're talking Thunderball (1965), Sean Connery's fourth official outing as James Bond.

Starring: Sean Connery as James Bond, Claudine Auger as Domino, Adolfo Celi as Emilio Largo, and Luciana Paluzzi as Fiona Volpe.
Directed by: Terence Young.

71% of the Earth is covered in ocean, but that doesn't mean the same should be said of a film. And speeding up the above-water action doesn't necessarily make up for endless slow-motion molasses underwater—even when harpoons are involved.

So throw on something comfortable. Maybe a pair of short shorts. Get ready for a little bedroom blackmail. We're talking Thunderball, and we have feelings about it, y'all.

The action, gadgets, and sex are all amped up for Goldfinger, but so are the sound effects, cringe jokes, and sexism.
